
Trick question! Obviously it’s both. Two commonly mistaken plants that co-occur on many of our rangeland sites and with enough precipitation, can look remarkably similar at first glance. Yellow rabbitbrush (Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus) on the left does not have obvious petals (ray flowers) whereas broom snakeweed (Guiterrezia sarothrae) on the right does have easily visible flower petals (ray flowers).
